Tea and Philosophy

Now I just love my tea just like any other person and although I have had a slight distraction to coffee, I can think of nothing more comforting than curling up on the sofa with a nice warm cuppa. My taste in tea varies from Twinings, Tazo, Lancashire Tea and good old PG Tips. You can imagine my pleasure when I came across a new brand of Tea but with a purpose. Tea and Philosophy is created by organic tea company, Today was Fun whose prerogative is to get as much out of life as possible and have a damm good time while doing so. The company was set up by Sharyn Wortman, both CEO and Tea Lady in her floating barge in South London six years ago and since then has gone from strength to strength. Now to the tea – the product is created with five hand blended, loose leaf tisanes and carefully wrapped with a little of their philosophies.

Which is a fragrant blend of Hibiscus flower Rosemary and Cardamom. Use this to bring more joy in your life.

Expectancy Tea

Treats pregnant ladies to blend of Raspberry leaf with a hint of Peppermint and puts you in touch with the miracle of a new life while helping to ease the physical pain of being an expectant mother.

Friendship Tea

Has Sunny Marigold flowers and Hawthorn berries teamed up to celebrate the beauty of friendship and that warm feeling of intimacy.

Inspiration Tea

Has a unique blend of lemongrass, orange and peppermint that reinvigorates the spirit and refreshes hope.

Sleepy Tea

Contains a dream blend of Lemon Balm and lime flowers with a hint of lavender that relaxes the mind, induces calm and of course sends you off to sleep.

All you need now are some cupcakes.

Tea and Philosophy is available to purchase online and stores around the UK and Europe.

Top 6 Reasons Not to Drink Tea

1- The chemicals used to remove caffeine from tea are carcinogenic as there is no swiss water method as with coffee.

2- The caffeine in tea takes twice as long to eliminate from the body.

3- Depletes the adrenal glands just like coffee

4- Decreases melatonin production = sleep disorders like insomnia

5- Caffeine acts as a diuretic (by the way, caffeine is a strong diuretic, which depletes the body of certain vitamins and minerals, such as “C”, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, and potassium

6- All teas contain flouride. Flouride is accumulative toxin. Only 50% of this poison is excreted from the body per day. The other half stays and accumulates, particualry in the brain & bones. Water contains lead & aluminium. Flouride attaches to lead & aluminum ions and heightens accumulation and increases these toxins metals to the brain. Aluminum flouride showed capacity to damage brain and kidneys in lab rats

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your comments, however I would appreciate it if you did not use my blog to advertise your company. I am well aware of the side effects of tea but I like drinking it.

Tea for ever!!

Love tea - if we cut out all the things that are bad for us we would barely be able to have a lentil and water. The sleepy tea is heavenly xx

I just wanted to address anonymous (first poster.) You would have to drink at least 20 cups of tea a day to begin to have any of the side effects you talk about. Tea is usually decaffeinated by using water or co2. Both of these ways are chemical free. I learn this info when purchasing green tea which I love from my favorite on line store. Anytime I have a question, I just email them and they promptly answer me. Besides if you are really "afraid" of tea try rooibos. It is naturally caffeine free and contains calcium, magnesium, iron, and other good for you minerals.

That first "comment" is annoying. What a pill! First, advertising the company with such negativity. Second, I love how people throw all this dire information around, as if you'll become immortal if you follow their advice. My attitude is no one is going to live forever so have some FUN along the way. And if tea is fun for you, enjoy! Ondo Lady, what I was originally going to post before I was so annoyed by Anonymous, is that I'm really not a drinker of hot tea, but I was so intrigued by your post I was thinking I should try some of the Sleepy Tea.

Ondo Lady...are you really leaving us behind...

I know "the only thing constant, is change"

I really need to get back into to tea...decaf-tea. I am told that women should not indulge in caffeine/coffee, even 1-cup...what's a girl to do.

Is there anything out there that is good for us???
