Fashioning February: The Launch of Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration

I have heard lots about Amelia's magazine via fashionistas and bloggers have been raving about her for ages. Founded by Amelia Gregory in 2004, a writer, photographer, art director and all round talented lady who runs the publication from the comfort of her home - Amelia's magazine covers music, theatre and fashion. Weighing in at 300 pages, Amelia's magazine is a real treat just like that bar of Swiss chocolate that you only take out for special occasions. Amelia has a background in fashion styling and after working for freelance she parlayed into photography. I have never had the pleasure of meeting the lady herself despite following her on Twitter so I was intrigued when an invite landed into my inbox for the launch of her book, Amelia's Compendium of of Fashion Illustration. The event took place at last week at 123 Store in Bethnal Green and the setting was of a tea party. Think herbal tea served in chintzy china cups and saucers along with tiny scones and you have the picture. Several illustrators were on hand to draw other pictures and free hand massages were on offer while we got to mingle with other bloggers and journalists. We were also given a gorgeous goody bag with a lovely box of  Dr. Hauschka Rose Body Oil as well as a powder duo, a box of Pukka tea, a very glam Tatty Devine necklace along with a funky heart shaped key ring. There were also yummy Amelia branded goodies in the shape of notepads, bookmarks and postcards. Amelia took five minutes out to give me a short
interview about the book and what inspired her to produce it. Have a peep below.
